"Mason Reeves cannot help catch one’s eye no matter what he does…[He] is amazingly versatile and lightning quick in showing the many sides of Dmitry, sometimes several at once....Watching him, I saw a gifted actor who can excel in any role….Reeves is the kind of performer you want to see again…

"While Mason Reeves only appears in the sixth and final scene of the play, he is a revelation as William Temple Franklin."

"Rounding out the fine cast is Mason Reeves as William’s more accepting son William Temple Franklin, also born out of wedlock (one of the few ways in which William followed in his father’s footsteps), who appears in the final scene in London, seems to have inherited the best traits of both of his forebears, and brings the hope of the titular “Franklinland” full circle."

Another strong lead is the mesmerizing Mason Reeves as Berger, one of Claude’s best friends who promises to smuggle him to Canada to avoid the draft; he’s going to deal with everything by “just staying high.” Reeves’ commanding presence is lovable, as he rips off his pants, reveals a loincloth, and refers to himself as a “psychedelic teddy bear.” His energy and acting prowess is electric.

As alluded to above, this production thrives due to its cast. Mason Reeves was born for the artform of musical theatre. As Berger, Reeves was a jubilant storyteller, infusing all of his scenes with mesmerizing expressiveness. The theatre came alive during his bright and giddy performance of “Going Down”.

Ensemble-driven spectacle is what something like Hair specializes in, and it is delivered to us with excitement starting with Mason Reeves’ gregarious Berger, who could not stop the audience from eating out of his hand if he tried. His gleaming smile and natural charisma made his hippie naivete all the more engrossing, and served as an excellent foil to the stonerized Claude (Jordan Dobson).

Beyond the two leads, a standout performance came from Mason Reeves as Kristoff, the kindhearted mountain man who befriends Anna and helps her on the quest to save the kingdom. Reeves has a buttery voice that effortlessly commands the stage. While the 2013 movie only gives Kristoff one song ("Reindeer(s) Are Better Than People") the musical's Kristoff gets to show off his vocal chops more, with a duet as he butts heads with Anna ("What Do You Know About Love") and a ballad in the second act revealing his growing romantic feelings for her ("Kristoff Lullaby")

Kristoff (Mason Reeves) captures our hearts as the lovable traveler and companion to Sven the Reindeer. His number "Reindeer are Better than People" is a wonderful comedic moment, and his duet with Anna "What Do You Know About Love," is simply magical. You feel for Kristoff's plight especially in his love for Princess Anna, and his moments on stage with Sven is the perfect example of friendship and camaraderie.

Innerbichler carries much of the show with an admirable sense of grace and gratitude, and you can't help but smile during her lead songs such as "For the First Time in Forever" and "What Do You Know About Love?," the latter of which she shares with University of Michigan grad Mason Reeves. Also a star-in-the-making, Reeves as Kristoff is the perfect complement to Innerbichler's Anna. Throughout the show, you can really see how Reeve's Kristoff sheds his hardened exterior and begins to fall for Anna. By the end of act two, you know exactly why these characters were meant for each other.
